3D / MODEL AUTHORING / SINGAPORE

BIM Modelling Services in Singapore

Develop BIM models around their intended use: coordination, documentation, sequencing, quantity extraction or asset-information delivery. Define geometry and information requirements before production begins.

SCOPE / DELIVERY

Convert the agreed design and technical inputs into a usable model at the required project stage. SBT’s modelling scope addresses representation and information quality; it does not infer unprovided design decisions.

KEY OUTPUTS

  • Discipline model
  • Model information schedule
  • QA and query record
  • Revision and exchange record

Project context

Convert the agreed design and technical inputs into a usable model at the required project stage. SBT’s modelling scope addresses representation and information quality; it does not infer unprovided design decisions.

Inputs & requirements

  • Approved or current design drawings, specifications and available models, with revision status.
  • Model uses, discipline boundaries, coordinates, units, authoring versions and exchange formats.
  • Required geometric detail, attribute fields, classification rules and review milestones.

Share a non-confidential requirements summary first. Restricted project information should only be exchanged through an agreed secure route.

Technical method

  1. Review input completeness and establish a query register for ambiguous or conflicting information.
  2. Set up model structure, levels, coordinates, naming and agreed object information.
  3. Author geometry and attributes using traceable sources; identify placeholders or unresolved design information.
  4. Check the agreed model uses, perform exchange tests and issue a revision-controlled package.

Deliverables

Outputs and update frequency are defined in the project appointment.
OutputPurpose
Discipline modelAgreed native and exchange formats for the defined model uses.
Model information scheduleParameter definitions, sources and required completion stages.
QA and query recordChecks performed, exceptions and questions for the responsible designer.
Revision and exchange recordThe information issued, its status and changes since the previous package.

Review criteria

  • Coordinates, levels, units, naming and object duplication.
  • Geometric and attribute completeness against the agreed model-use requirements.
  • Export readability, object relationships and changes affecting downstream drawings or quantities.

Responsibilities

The model reflects the agreed input and scope. Design authoring, engineering calculations and statutory approvals are separate responsibilities unless specifically appointed and appropriately authorised.

Common questions

Can an existing model be developed further?

Yes. Begin with a model audit to identify its source, reliability, structure and gaps against the required use.

Does a more detailed model always produce better quantities?

No. Quantities also depend on object completeness, modelling conventions, filters, units and measurement rules. These need a separate agreed extraction basis.
