Project context
Identify whether a delivery problem comes from missing information, unclear responsibilities, technical review gaps or production capacity. Shape the appointment around the decisions and deliverables that need support.
Inputs & requirements
- Project stage, disciplines, team structure and the next delivery milestones.
- BIM execution plan, information requirements and existing review or exchange procedures.
- Known delivery constraints, decision owners, permitted access and proposed working arrangement.
Share a non-confidential requirements summary first. Restricted project information should only be exchanged through an agreed secure route.
Technical method
- Review current delivery responsibilities and representative information against the next milestone.
- Agree priorities, escalation routes and review criteria with the client team.
- Provide focused technical reviews, working sessions and follow-up of agreed actions.
- Transfer repeatable checks and review the support arrangement as project needs change.
Deliverables
| Output | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Responsibility and escalation map | Who produces, reviews, accepts and resolves dependencies. |
| Technical review record | The source revision, criteria, findings and limits of each review. |
| Milestone readiness assessment | Available deliverables, unresolved decisions and named next actions. |
| Team guidance and review checklists | Repeatable methods for the in-house team to use. |
Review criteria
- Advice addresses the agreed project decisions and available evidence.
- Actions have an owner, priority and review point rather than only a status label.
- Client approval responsibilities and confidentiality controls remain clear.
Information & application
Working arrangements
Full-time on site
Embedded support for continuing coordination and close delivery interfaces, with attendance and responsibilities agreed for the project.
Part-time on site
Defined review days, coordination sessions or milestone support alongside the existing team.
Remote or hybrid
Controlled information reviews and scheduled working sessions, on a full-time or part-time basis to suit the agreed scope and availability.
Responsibilities
The appointment supports the client’s team and does not automatically confer design approval, statutory responsibility, purchasing authority or unrestricted control of client systems. Scope, availability and review responsibilities are agreed before mobilisation.
Common questions
Does this replace our BIM team?
No. The role complements the team’s production and delivery responsibilities. Additional production support can be scoped separately.
Can we start with one review?
Yes. A defined review can clarify the immediate need and suitable outputs before considering a longer engagement.
Can support span the project lifecycle?
Support can be arranged around successive phases and milestones, with scope and availability reviewed as requirements change.
