Project context
Keep information exchanges usable and traceable across project participants. Folder structure alone does not establish which revision is suitable for a particular review or who may release it.
Inputs & requirements
- Information requirements, BIM execution plan, naming and revision standards.
- Client platform, licences, existing configuration and authorised access.
- Participant roles, exchange milestones, review states and information-release responsibilities.
Share a non-confidential requirements summary first. Restricted project information should only be exchanged through an agreed secure route.
Technical method
- Map the current exchange process and agree authoring, review and release responsibilities.
- Configure or document the authorised folder, permission and information-state workflow.
- Trial a representative exchange and confirm access, revision traceability and review records.
- Support agreed exchanges, maintain operating guidance and review exceptions with the client administrator.

Review criteria
- Users have the intended access without unnecessary release authority.
- Published or shared packages can be traced to the reviewed revision.
- Receiving teams can open the agreed formats and identify exceptions or superseded information.
Responsibilities
SBT works within client-authorised accounts and permissions. Third-party subscriptions, platform capabilities and administration responsibilities are agreed separately. Software names describe workflow experience, not a vendor partnership or certification claim.
Common questions
Does CDE support include asset-information handover?
It can control the exchange of handover information. Defining, preparing and validating the asset records themselves is a separate 6D scope.
Must a project use both ACC and ProjectWise?
No. The platform and exchange arrangements follow the project’s requirements and existing systems.
